FieldSense is a satellite mapping tool designed to help farmers with soil sampling, variable rate fertiliser spreading, and variable rate drilling.
The responsibility of managing and operating the FieldSense platform lies predominantly with our ProCam Agronomists, who will also take care of interpreting the images and providing advice to the grower.
This takes the complexity, stress, and time away from the farmer, with the added benefit of the ProCam expertise.

ProCam’s FieldSense digital platform, with its variable rate seed application technology, delivers precision farming capabilities that are transforming how UK farmers approach crop establishment.
Using a combination of detailed field data—such as soil type, topography, and historical yield—alongside multi-year NDVI satellite imagery, the system identifies variations in crop biomass across each field. This insight allows agronomists to create tailored seed rate plans, applying more seed in historically weaker areas and less where it isn’t needed, aiming to achieve an even, optimal tiller density throughout the field. In some cases, this has meant applying nearly double the seed rate in poorer zones to match the performance of more productive areas—an adjustment that would be missed using a blanket approach.
This level of precision delivers more consistent emergence, stronger plant health, and more efficient use of inputs, all contributing to improved yield reliability. By moving away from a one-size-fits-all method, FieldSense helps each hectare perform to its full potential. At a time when farmers are facing increasing input costs, variable weather, and pressure to reduce their environmental footprint, FieldSense offers a competitive edge. It enables informed, data-driven decisions that boost productivity while reducing waste. Its adaptive approach also means farmers can monitor and refine strategies season by season, improving resilience and ensuring that their operations remain efficient, profitable, and sustainable for the long term. Ultimately, FieldSense supports smarter farming practices that are better for business and better for the land.
