HOW TO OPTIMISE THE USE OF YOUR VARIETY
Sowing
The optimum way to use RGT ESTIMAX MULTI is to sow immediately after harvesting your cereal crop, in order to conserve as much available soil moisture as may exist. This sowing date will also enable an early harvest date. RGT Estimax Multi reaches maturity only 90 days after sowing. Prescribed sowing depth is between 1- 1.5 cms.
Agronomy
RGT Estimax Multi has been specifically designed to be a finely balanced mixture of species that are highly complementary in unison. Forage peas and Purple Vetch both have a high protein level, and the ability to capture and fix nitrogen. Sorghum has a very high energy level which makes it a key element when RGT Estimax multi is used as in forage rations for ruminants. It also has a very vigorous root system which is capable of not only improving soil condition but also scavenging available soil nutritive elements that may be present. The inclusion of Abysinnian mustard further participates to improvement of soil structure. Sunflowers have an adapted behaviour to summer conditions and are able to tolerate drought conditions and high temperatures well. Linseed brings further benefits due its rooting habit and well documented ability to re-fissure the soil profile over a broad range of depths. If left to fully mature, RGT Estimax Multi brings additional environmental benefits as it is highly attractive to pollinating insects and other beneficials.
Harvest
For use as a forage or biogas feedstock, RGT Estimax Mutli should be ensiled. For situations where it is used solely for the purposes of soil conditioning, then RGT Estimax Multi should be crimped and incorporated in to the soil.
The yield per hectare can be between 7 to 9 tons of dry matter/hectare.
